First Trinitarian Congregational Church is a very active church community with many ministries doing amazing work in our own church community, our local community and supporting causes around the world. If you are interested in getting involved, please email office@ftccscituate.org. Below is a list of ministry teams:
Coffee Hour Ministry Team
Fellowship Ministry Team
Parish Visitors Ministry Team
Seaside Christmas Fair Organizers Team
Welcoming Team
This group coordinates all communications of the church including website maintenance and managing social media outlets.
Our team has unanimously decided to focus their efforts to organizations which are more local to our church, thereby there can be more physical participation rather than just writing a check. This year has been so different due to the pandemic, but we still were able to conduct a Carolina Hill food prep in January 2020. Thanksgiving bags for the Food Pantry and Christmas Giving Tree for Carolina Hill were executed in a different manner with the help of Sign Up Genius and exercising safe, healthy protocol for drop off of all donated goods.
Our team members, along with the entire congregation, have missed the active participation this year with the many local organizations which we serve such as Father Bill’s, Mainspring, South Shore Peer Recovery, Career Closet (Interfaith Social Services), and Maura’s Hopeful Mission. Even though we could not participate physically, FTCC’s M&O continues to support these organizations monetarily. Below is a complete list of all the organizations we supported this year:
Mass UCC (OCWM)
Wycliffe Bible
MainSpring/Father Bill's
UCC (Disaster Relief)
UCC Programs (Vets of cross/OGHS)
Scituate Food Pantry
Mission Scholarships
Carolina Hill Shelter
Interfaith Social Services
Habitat for Humanity
Bread for the World
Viv's Give
Malawi Children's Mission
Peer Recovery
Scituate Community Christmas
This group plays a vital role in reaching out to Church members who need extra comfort by knitting blankets. Recipients have recently lost a loved one or the most joyous is the presentation of a shawl to a newly baptized baby's family at the baptism.
The Open and Affirming Task Force (ONA) was formed to re-affirm our commitment to the LGBTQ Community. We provide education on LGBTQ issues and celebration of the LGBTQ community. Click here or more info.
The Properties Team is responsible for the general maintenance of all church properties. These properties include the main church building, its grounds and the parking lot, the Memorial Garden, and the Fitts House.
